Lambeth Council is working with other London councils to help those on low incomes access support of up to £10,000 for energy efficiency upgrades to their homes. Whilst not always affordable, retrofitting is a huge part of our work to tackle the climate crisis. Those living in the coldest or least energy efficient homes can apply for grants through this scheme to cover the installation of efficiency measures, such as:
- Loft, cavity wall, floor, roof and solid wall insulation
- New smart heating controls, radiators and heat pumps
- Window and door upgrades
To be eligible you must have a total household income of less than £30,000 a year and your home has to have an Energy Performance Rating of E, F, or G (you can check the rating of your home here). If you meet this criteria you can submit an application to the scheme by clicking here or calling 0800 083 2265. Landlords and housing associations can also apply for this scheme, as long as they meet additional criteria, so if you are a tenant you may wish to discuss with your landlord.
The scheme ends on 31st March 2021.
