Mary Atkins
Councillor for Tulse Hill Ward

Mary has been involved in politics for over 30 years and has a strong interest in social justice issues. Her awareness of social justice issues was facilitated by working in Malawi over 30 years ago and she was an active campaigner in the anti-apartheid movement and several other global social justice issues.
Since being elected to the Council in 2014 Mary has worked with the Tusle Hill community on a number of issues from working to get a much needed crossing on Brixton Water Lane to setting up the GLOWS social enterprise on the Tulse Hill estate.
On Lambeth Council, Mary is Vice Chair of the Council’s Scrutiny Committee which examines council policies and ensures that stakeholders and the general public can have input into decisions that are made.
