Lambeth Council is consulting on a new Public Space Protection Order to tackle street drinking which will allow police and council officers to respond to anti-social behaviour and other issues related to street drinking.
The order targets alcohol consumption in public places associated with anti-social behaviour. It requires those in breach of the order to surrender their alcohol to Council enforcement officers or Police officers, or face a fine. We have previously received complaints from local residents about anti-social street drinking in the grounds of St Matthews Church and on Rush Common.
The consultation closes on 6th September 2020 and you can find further information and submit your comments here.
